Most Espresso enthusiasts consider the Bialetti Brikka one of the best Stovetop Espresso Makers available due to its unique “Brikka-System”.
Bialetti Brikka's (2018) Weighted pressure valve uses a patented valve system that regulates water pressure precisely to ensure that the coffee is rich in flavour but not overpowering or weak. The result is a thicker crema with fewer visible bubbles. An open hole designed into the lid allows air to swirl above the brewing coffee to form velvety crema. This crema results from coffee oils trapping air and is the mark of quality espresso.

Understanding Bialetti Cup Sizes:
Bialetti coffee makers have a cup size label, which might confuse Australians who are used to regular coffee measurements. In this case, a "cup" isn't the usual 250ml coffee cup Australians are used to; it's more like an espresso shot in size.
With the “Brikka System”, Bialetti revolutionizes the stovetop espresso market and allows the Brikka to prepare espresso with “crema”. Thanks to a special weighted value system, you can now enjoy the rich and intense flavour of creamy coffee.
With the Bialetti Brikka, you can enjoy an exceptional coffee every day without leaving the comfort of your kitchen. The Bialetti Brikka system is the product of intense technological and qualitative research by Bialetti and is patented worldwide.
Carefully follow the instructions and enjoy an authentic espresso with “crema,” just like one from an Italian bar. Bialetti Brikka is yet another fantastic product brought to you by the ever-present “little man with the moustache.”

Before using for the first time
Wash all the parts in warm water before using the first time.
We recommend that you throw away the first 2-3 brews.
Do not use the handle while unscrewing, as this can cause the handle to break.
How to use Bialetti Coffee Makers
Bialetti aluminium and stainless steel stovetop coffeemakers work on a pressure based system.
1. Before using the coffeemaker for the first time, unscrew the top from the base.
2. Remove the funnel from the base. Then, remove the filter plate and the ring seal.
3. Wash all parts in warm water and correctly reassemble the top section.
4. Fill the base with water to just below the safety valve's level. Be careful not to overfill, as the air in the space between the water and the coffee filter heats and forces the water up through the coffee. If the water tank is overfilled, the result is boiled coffee with a bitter or burnt taste.
5. Insert the funnel.
6. Loosely fill the funnel with your favourite espresso ground coffee; do not tamp the coffee down. Remove any coffee grounds on the edge of the funnel.
7. Screw the top section firmly to the base. Avoid using the handle for leverage.
8. Place the coffeemaker on low to medium heat. When using gas, adjust the flame so that it does not extend up the side of the pot.
9. It takes only 3 - 6 minutes, depending on the size of the coffeemaker and the intensity of heat, until it’s ready to serve.
10. Once the coffee pot is 85% full, remove it immediately from the heat. Do not allow it to boil or put it on full heat, as this may cause the coffee to have a burnt taste.
Cleaning
When cool, separate the top section from the base, wash in warm water and dry thoroughly.
It’s best not to use detergent when washing the aluminium models as it can taint the aluminium and, therefore, the coffee. However, a mild detergent can be used to clean the stainless steel models if you prefer, and a liquid chrome polish can be used to keep the stainless steel looking new.
Do not use steel wools or abrasive products as these will discolour or damage the surface of the pot and its parts.
Periodically clean the column’s insides, ensuring no build-up of coffee residues.
Do not reassemble until all parts are completely dry to avoid oxidation
Bialetti stovetop espresso makers are not dishwasher safe, only clean by hand.
All Bialetti stovetop espresso makers are suitable for use on gas, electric and ceramic hobs.
